2025 Salute to Safety

The City has designed Salute to Safety, a campaign to celebrate first responders in Mesquite from Sept. 26-Oct. 7, 2025.

Sept. 26

  • First Responder’s Game,  7 p.m. at Mesquite Memorial Stadium, 2500 Memorial Blvd. Mesquite High School versus Horn High School.

Sept. 29

  • Books and Badges, 10:30 a.m. - Firefighters and Police officers will read to children during story time at North Branch Library, 2600 Oates Dr.

Oct. 1

  • Books and Badges, 10:30 a.m. - Police officers will read to children during story time at Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Dr.
  • Books and Badges, 11:30 a.m. - Firefighters will read to children during story time at Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Dr.
  • Books and Badges, 4 p.m. - Police officers will read to children during story time at Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Dr.

Oct. 2

  • Books and Badges, 10:30 a.m. - Firefighters and Police officers will read to children during story time at North Branch Library, 2600 Oates Dr.
  • Books and Badges, 4 p.m. - Police officers will read to children during story time at North Branch Library, 2600 Oates Dr.
  • Books and Badges, 12 p.m. - Police officers will read to children during story time at Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Dr.
  • Books and Badges, 4 p.m. - Police officers will read to children during story time at Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Dr.

Oct. 3

  • Ladders and Lattes, 8-10 a.m.- Bear Cave Coffee, 214 W Davis St. Come have coffee and chat with firefighters.

Oct. 4

  • Books and Badges, 10:30 a.m. - Police officers will read to children during story time at North Branch Library, 2600 Oates Dr.

Oct. 6

  • Books and Badges, 10:30 a.m. - Firefighters will read to children during story time at North Branch Library, 2600 Oates Dr.
  • Burgers with a Badge, 11 a.m. -1 p.m., at Braum's, 3506 N. Galloway Ave.
  • First Responders Pledge, 7 p.m., Council Chambers, 757 N. Galloway Ave. Police officer, Firefighter and Dispatcher representatives lead the Pledge of Allegiance at the City Council meeting.

Oct. 7

Oct. 8

  • Coffee with a Cop, 8-10 a.m.- Bear Cave coffee, 214 W Davis St. Come have coffee and chat with Police officers.
  • Fire Guys and Waffle Fries, 12-2 p.m. Chick-fil-A Town East with Firefighters

Oct. 9

  • Shaw Elementary visit: 9 a.m., Engine 7 and Fire Department staff visits with students and teachers.
