Budget

The City of Mesquite annually adopts an operating budget to meet the ongoing needs of its citizens. Preparation of the annual operating budget is a function of the City Manager’s Office and, once finalized, it is submitted to the City Council for further review and adoption. The City’s fiscal budget year is October 1 to September 30.

Budget Priorities Citizen Survey

Each year, the City of Mesquite creates a budget to estimate revenues and expenditures and part of that process is to engage citizens for feedback through the use of town halls, public hearings and budget discussions. In 2020, the City seeks additional feedback from residents by implementing the Budget Priorities Citizen Survey.

The survey will be available from June 25 through July 7, 2020. However, the survey tool will not be available on July 3 from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. due to online maintenance by the survey vendor. The City apologizes for this inconvenience. The City recommends the public watch the budget educational video located above prior to completing the survey. Please find the survey link below.
