Special Events / Community Outreach Intern

KMB has internships available for the fall, spring, and summer terms. Internships are unpaid but are available for academic credit.  

About the Internship

The Special Events / Community Outreach Intern will assist the Executive Director of Keep Mesquite Beautiful, Inc. in the daily operations of running a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Responsibilities will include: 

  • Special event coordination
  • Volunteer software management
  • Youth program coordination
  • Grant writing and management
  • Day-to-day activities involved with running a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.


If you have a keen eye for detail, thrive on juggling multiple deadlines, love to plan, plan, plan, and can take an idea and run with it, this might be the perfect internship for you! Please keep in mind that this internship will require you to be highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ability to learn new software programs, and have strong communication skills. 

Interested applicants should be:

  • Detail oriented
  • Comfortable working with a variety of volunteers
  • Currently enrolled in college (or mature high school senior)
  • Able to contribute 12-15 hours per week (Monday - Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.)
