Thank you for taking the time to visit our website to learn more about the Mesquite Police Department and about our great community Our employees take a great deal of pride in protecting and serving those who live, work, and play in the City of Mesquite. The Mesquite Police Department is dedicated to not only serving but partnering with our community to maintain a safe environment with a high quality of life.
As your Police Chief, I realize that it is important to implement appropriate policies and procedures to guide our employees. However, I believe that it is the people in our organization and the people in our community who make the difference. Our Mission Statement, listed below, clearly shows our focus and priorities. The accomplishment of the police mission in a professional manner requires the concerted and directed efforts of each employee.
The mission of the Mesquite Police Department includes:
- The protection of life and property;
- The preservation of the peace and the suppression of disorder;
- The prevention of crime and the promotion of traffic safety;
- The apprehension of offenders and the recovery of stolen property; and
- The enforcement of city ordinances, state laws, and federal laws within the framework of law and societal expectations.
The Mesquite Police Department is also recognized as a Best Practices Agency by the Texas Police Chiefs Association Law Enforcement Recognition Program, and our officers and departmental employees strive to provide quality service during every interaction they have with our citizens.
