The Mesquite Housing Division administers the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. This program is a tenant-based rental assistance program funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The mission of the City of Mesquite Housing Division is to encourage independence, provide housing assistance, and family stability throughout the city to the families we serve by following HUD guidelines with consistent, professional customer service, and teamwork.

The Project Based Voucher (PBV) Program is a component of the Mesquite Housing Division’s Voucher Program that allows participants to reside in a specific development. The Housing Division does not own or manage the development. The development allows a maximum of two family members per one-bedroom unit and four family members per two-bedroom unit. Applicant households consisting of more than four family members, will be denied assistance on the PBV Program.
