Residents are responsible for repairing residential sidewalks. The City of Mesquite does have a 50/50 cost-sharing program that assists residents in covering the costs of sidewalk repairs.

Private property owners are responsible for trimming trees and shrubs located on their properties. The Streets Division will respond to trees and vegetation issues if they are blocking a street, sidewalk or alley. The Streets Division will not go onto private property to maintain overgrown vegetation or tree limbs.Street
