Mesquite, TX – January 8, 2019 – The Mesquite Police Department seeks the assistance of the public in identifying the person or persons responsible for a shooting, which resulted in the serious injury of a Mesquite woman. On Sunday, Jan. 6 at about 1:50 a.m., Mesquite Police were called to the 2600 block of Franklin Drive in reference to a drive-by shooting. Multiple gunshots were fired into three adjacent townhomes at this location. In one of the townhomes, a 46-year-old female was struck in the head as she slept in her bed, by a round that penetrated the wall of her bedroom. The injured woman was transported to a Dallas hospital where she is listed in serious condition. She is not believed to be the target of the shooting.
