Mesquite, TX – November 27, 2018 – Mesquite’s annual Christmas in the Park takes place from 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 and Sunday, Dec. 2, at Westlake Park, 600 Gross Road. Guests can look forward to free carnival games at Rudolph’s Reindeer Games, enjoy a variety of concession choices at Buddy’s Buffet, and participate in the Ugly Sweater Contests for people and pets.
Children can visit the Winter Woodlands Village for a variety of free make-and-take crafts. New this year is the Candy Land Express, which takes children on a train ride through a sweet scene of treats, then stops for a free cup of hot chocolate. Each evening at 7 p.m., the “Here Comes Christmas” parade will proceed through the center of Westlake Park followed by a brief fireworks finale.
Parking is available in the grass field across from Westlake Park. Beginning at 2 p.m., a remote parking lot with shuttle service is available at Family Cathedral of Praise, 790 Windbell Circle. Visit www.cityofmesquite.com/ChristmasInThePark for more information.
Prior to Christmas in the Park, Mesquite AMBUCS invites you to a pancake brunch with Santa from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at Evans Recreation Center, 1116 Hillcrest St. Tickets are $3 per person. AMBUCS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities.
