Mesquite, TX – October 22, 2018 – David Paschall has lived and raised a family in Mesquite. He has served as a City Councilmember. He has volunteered on multiple Mesquite boards. Today, he begins a new chapter in his life of service to the Mesquite community as the City of Mesquite’s new City Attorney. He replaces B.J. Smith who retired in April.
Paschall said, “I am blessed to have this unique opportunity. I have long-standing roots in the community. I have lived here and raised a family here. My familiarity with this community will help me direct the outstanding legal staff the City already has onboard. So, to be able to help lead the legal needs of the City in order to protect and maintain the interests of Mesquite, is simply a dream come true.”
Paschall’s legal career began by earning a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University in 1990. He practiced law at Goins, Underkolfer, Crawford & Langdon, L.L.P. in Dallas for nearly 25 years. Most recently, he has managed municipal law and commercial litigation for Rosenberg, Paschall, Johnson, L.L.P.
Paschall’s commitment to the Mesquite community includes serving on the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission, as the Chairman of the Falcon’s Lair Tax Increment Finance Reinvestment Zone, as a member of the City Council and as the Chairman of the City’s Civil Service Commission and Personnel Trial Board.
