Mesquite, TX – October 12, 2018 – The Mesquite Police Department (MPD) graduated 10 recruits from its Basic Police Officer Course (BPOC) on Oct. 5. Only 4 percent of the 2,690 law enforcement agencies in Texas have a training academy. MPD has graduated 65 recruits from its BPOC since the training academy began in 2013.
The graduates are Brantley Miller – Andrews, TX; Raul Ramirez III – San Benito, TX; Jeremy Shedd – Dallas, TX; Connor LeBaron – Wylie, TX; Jared Murr – Mesquite, TX; Blythe Moehring – Oceanside, CA; Jeffery Bingham – Mesquite, TX; Nicole Wolstencroft – Lone Oak, TX; Chelsea Wilcox – Corpus Christi, TX; and Jeffrey McSpedden – Mesquite, TX.
The 10 new recruits completed 27 weeks of the BPOC program. They now will begin a 17-week field training program. Upon successful completion of the field training program the police officers will be assigned to patrol duties.
