Edible Book Contest (Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Dr.) August 21: The Friends of the Mesquite Public Library once again present the “Edible Book Contest” at the Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Drive. Show us your creative side and enter a edible representation of your favorite book. Vote for your favorites on August 21 and at 7 p.m. the winner will be announced at the Friends Meeting. Come join the fun and help the Friends in their fundraising. Entry forms and rules are on the Library’s homepage. If so, join us at the North Branch Library on Saturday, September 13, 2:30 p.m. as the Creature Teacher will be bringing some mammals and birds for us to learn about. Recommended for ages 3 and up. Grubb Dr.) September. 20, 2 p.m.: Bring the whole family to enjoy “String Variety”, a fast-paced marionette show presented by the Dallas Puppet Theater at the Mesquite Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Drive, on Saturday, September 20, 2:00 p.m. Ask A Lawyer (Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Dr.) September 27, 10 a.m. – noon: ASK A LAWYER, a community service program provided by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Dallas Volunteer Attorney program, will be presented at the Mesquite Public Library, 300 W. Grubb Drive, on Saturday, September 27, 10 a.m. - 12 noon. This program gives attendees the opportunity to seek legal advice for free. If a question requires more in-depth expertise or cannot be answered in 15 minutes, the attendee will be referred to the proper legal resource.
