Mesquite, TX – May 11, 2022 – More than 638 volunteers collected about 288 bags, containing nearly 4,800 pounds of litter from 30 locations around Mesquite, including parks, neighborhoods and retail shopping areas as a part of Keep Mesquite Beautiful, Inc. (KMB) cleanup event, Trash Bash, on April 30.
Selket Daese, Volunteer and Keep Mesquite Beautiful Program Administrator, said, “Keep Mesquite Beautiful would like to thank all of our hardworking volunteers who came out to clean up our beautiful city and made such a huge impact within our community. Trash Bash keeps growing every year thanks to our exceptional residents, businesses, and school groups. Seeing the turnout for this event is truly inspiring and KMB is excited to be Mesquite’s conduit for environmental care.”
Trash Bash is an event that is part of the City’s Clean City Initiative. The initiative combines the efforts of several City departments and programs into a unified strategy to improve the appearance of our community. The Clean City Initiative will combine the efforts of Keep Mesquite Beautiful, Mesquite Parks and Recreation, Environmental Code and Solid Waste to promote litter prevention, beautification projects and improved regulations.
