Mesquite, TX – October 4, 2021 – On Saturday, Oct. 2, nearly 500 volunteers gathered throughout Mesquite to assist 50 homeowners with home projects such as painting, landscaping and other minor home exterior projects. This was all part of the 17th annual Addressing Mesquite Day.
More than 1,000 homeowners in Mesquite have received help since Addressing Mesquite Day’s inception. This annual one-day event focuses on home repairs needed by senior citizens, single parents, military veterans, the disabled and other homeowners in Mesquite. The City of Mesquite wants to thank all the volunteers that helped make this year’s event happen, including local schools, businesses and churches as well as City staff that volunteered.
The City also wants to thank the event sponsors. Silver Sponsors for the 17th Address Mesquite Day were Fuel City, White Survivor’s Trust and Oncor. Gold Sponsors were Myers Home Buyers and Mesquite Rotary Club. Platinum Sponsors were Ameresco, The Home Depot Foundation and Atmos Energy. Other generous donors who provided donations to make this event possible included Whataburger, SAM’S Club, and Chick-fil-A.
