Mesquite, TX – September 10, 2021 – The City of Mesquite has received two positive West Nile-Virus reports from Dallas County Mosquito Lab. Spraying will start tonight at 10 p.m. in the area around Mesquite Fire Station #6 on Barnes Bridge Road and the neighborhood bounded by Oates, LaPrada, Gus Thomasson and Galloway. Attached are maps of the spray areas.
Two sprays of the area should be completed by Monday night, weather permitting. Spraying begins after 10 p.m. and ends no later than 5:30 a.m.
Prevention is the best defense against the West Nile virus. Mesquite residents are reminded to enjoy the outdoors, and remember the four D’s:
