Mesquite, TX – August 19, 2021 – The Mesquite Police Department announced the promotion of Angela Hensley to Public Safety Dispatch Manager. She will oversee the department’s Public Safety Dispatch division, which is responsible for four major sections of public safety, including the Public Safety Answering Point, Channel One Radio, Fire Dispatch and the National Crime Information Center.
Angela began her career with the Mesquite Police Department in 1998. She started as a Public Safety Dispatcher and has served in various leadership positions during this time. Angela became a Communications Training Operator in 2000 and was promoted to assistant supervisor in 2001. She was later promoted to Public Safety Dispatch Supervisor in 2003. She was the Training Coordinator and Mentor Program Coordinator for dispatch from 2003-2005. She is International Academies of Emergency Medical Dispatch (IAEMD), CPR and first aid certified. She also has certification in Crisis Communications.
Angela has received numerous awards including the Dispatcher of the Year Award in April 2002, the Mesquite Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni (MCPAAA) Civilian on the Month award and a Meritorious Conduct Award as well as twenty-two letters of commendation.
