Mesquite, TX – July 21, 2021 – As a part of its Recovery Mesquite efforts to help the community move forward and onward from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Mesquite continues the virtual Community Health Forum Series on July 27 at 7 p.m. The focus is on fitness and health resources available through the city’s Parks and Recreation Department as a part of the National Park and Recreation Month for the month of July.

The forum will feature panelists:
- Elizabeth Harrell, Director of Parks and Recreation
- Kaderick Burns, Manager of Recreation Services
- Rachael Burks, Recreation Supervisor of Athletics and Aquatics
The forum will share insights into all the parks, trails, facilities, programs and services the city offers to the community that provide opportunities to remain physically fit and to use as part of an overall healthy lifestyle. Harrell said, “As we conclude the celebration of the special month, this forum is a chance to share our park and recreation story. Our local parks have been essential to many in our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to stay active. We want to introduce the public to other parts of our department that can also help them remain physically and mentally healthy.”
