Mesquite, TX – May 5, 2021 – This Friday, the Mesquite Parks and Recreation Department is kicking off the summer fun with their first Movies in the Park of the year. On May 7, 14, and 21 free, family-friendly movies will be presented at Paschall Park, 1001 New Market Road. Check in starts at 7:30 p.m. and the featured movie of the weeks starts at dusk. Director of Parks and Recreation, Elizabeth Harrell, said, “We’re thrilled to start doing in-person events again. What better way to spend an evening with the family than to spread out a blanket and watch an outdoor movie.”
Designated areas will be marked off for each family to ensure social distancing. Families are encouraged to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs, and they’re welcome to bring picnic dinners and snacks. Concessions and shaved ice will also be available for purchase.
There will be a new movie featured every week.
May 7 – Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker
May 14 – Trolls World Tour
May 21 – The Karate Kid (1984)
This event is sponsored by Celebration Station, Coca-Cola, Dallas Regional Medical Center and Park’s Martial Arts.
