Mesquite, TX – December 1, 2020 – The City of Mesquite is developing a 20-year master plan for the solid waste services it provides to residential and commercial customers and is asking for public input through an online survey at www.cityofmesquite.com/SolidWastePlan through Dec. 31.
Mark Kerby, the City’s Special Projects Director, said, “Listening to its customers is important for the City to develop a plan for current and future solid waste services. Input from the public will be vital to making sure the City will continue to meet the growing needs of our community for quality City services and programs.” Kerby said the results from community feedback will help the City draft a proposed plan for review by the City Council.
Currently, the City offers a variety of solid waste services. These include biweekly household garbage collection, weekly yard waste collection, large brush/bulky item collection, a residential recycling program, management of numerous commercial collection contracts, appliance collection services upon request, operation of a composting facility and emergency debris removal.
