Mesquite, TX – July 9, 2020 – As part of the Recovery Mesquite campaign, the City of Mesquite announced they will start providing funding assistance to its businesses and residents, impacted by COVID-19, through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act beginning on July 13. Local business owners and residents can visit www.cityofmesquite.com/CARES for more information on how to apply for funding assistance.
Mayor Bruce Archer stated, “The City Council is eager to get these CARES funds into the hands of our residents and businesses as quickly as possible to help them recover. We are also excited to get additional funds into the hands of our local charities to aid them in their work within our community in regards to COVID-19 recovery for families.”
For residents, applications will be processed through Dallas County and the stipulations are:
- Funds are to be used for mortgage and rent assistance
- Applicant cannot currently be receiving assistance through another entity
- Applicant’s household income must fall within the Area Median Income (AMI)
For businesses, applications will be processed through Dallas County and the stipulations are:
- Each application is for a maximum of a $50,000 grant
- The business can’t have more than 50 full-time employees
- The business must be located in Mesquite city limits
