The first Christmas in the Park was in 1985 and started as an open house event to celebrate the renovations of the Westlake House by various city dignitaries and employees. The following year luminaries were placed on walkways for a “walk around the lake” for the community. In the early 90’s Christmas in the Park expanded to what it is today.
