Mesquite, TX – November 12, 2019 –To kick off the holiday season, Mesquite Parks and Recreation’s annual Christmas in the Park, is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, and Sunday, December 8, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Westlake Park, 601 Gross Road. This family friendly event features holiday décor, community performances and kid’s activities.
The Winter Woodlands Village where children can make a variety of free Christmas crafts, additional holiday scenes in the hayride, and a live reindeer that Santa will be bringing for kids to meet.
Traditional favorites of the event will return including a live Nativity, story time with Mrs. Claus, and free pictures with Santa for people and pets.
To end the evening, the “Here Comes Christmas” parade, featuring ten festive, lighted floats, will proceed through the center of Westlake Park each evening at 7 p.m. followed by a brief fireworks finale.
Christmas in the Park is designed to be a low cost event for families. Many of the attractions are free such as roasting marshmallows on the yule log and Rudolph’s Reindeer Games. Parking and entrance to the event are free and activity wristbands can be purchased for $10 each.
