The Mesquite Public Library offers an online eCard for Mesquite residents only.

Note: If you already have a library card from the Mesquite Public Library, you will not be issued an eCard. Both traditional library cards and nonresident cards provide the same online privileges as an eCard.

(To access online resources with a traditional library card, use your card number and PIN. Hint: The PIN may be the last 4 digits of your telephone number.)

An eCard: 

  • Is a virtual library card that allows access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, databases and other electronic resources.
  • Will be issued via email.
  • Is available to Mesquite residents 14 years or older.
  • Is good for 3 years and may be renewed online.
  • Cannot be used to access internet computers in the Library or to checkout physical books, CDs, DVDs, etc.

The Mesquite Public Library System is a member of the Northeast Texas Digital Consortium which gives our cardholders access to a broad collection of fiction and nonfiction titles in a downloadable format. Rocket Languages
Learn a foreign language with Rocket Languages. There are 15 languages to choose from, including ASL Sign Language. First time users will need to create an account with your library card number, name, email address and password so that you can track your progress. Gale Legal Forms includes a wide selection of Texas legal forms. Also includes a directory of Texas attorneys and a dictionary of legal definitions explained in layman’s language. You will need your library card number and your PIN to log in.
TexShare Databases

TexShare Library of Texas is an extensive collection of databases which gives users the opportunity to access full-text articles in encyclopedias, almanacs, reference books, journals, newspapers, and electronic books. Databases include Gale Literature Resource Center, GalePresents: Udemy on-demand video courses, ChiltonLibrary, Ebsco’s MasterFile and Academic Search Complete, LearningExpress Library, and Heritage Quest Online. You need a password, which you may request from a reference librarian.

Newstand eMagazines
cloudLibrary NewsStand features over 7,000 full-color digital magazines in 60 languages, for instant mobile or desktop reading and download. Search your app store for "cloudLibrary NewsStand" or click for Apple devices or Android devices, and download the free cloudLibrary NewsStand app. For desktop computer access, visit the cloudLibrary NewsStand website and click 'Login' in the upper right-hand corner of the webpage. Downloaded issues remain on your device until you remove them, availability of back issues and the EZ reader feature vary from title to title, no holds and no return dates.  Please note: cloudLibrary NewsStand is a separate app from cloudLibrary for eBooks and eAudiobooks.
