Here is some helpful information that will help you get started with applying for a Hotel/Motel Rental Property License. Hotels and motels must have a Hotel/Motel Rental Property License. An application must be submitted through CSS.
The annual licensing for hotels/motels is a requirement and the fee is charged at a rate of $12 per unit per year.
Suppose you own/manage a hotel/motel with a total of 150 units.
- Number of Units: 150 units
- Fee per Unit: $12 per unit per year
- Total Annual Fee = 150 units×$12 per unit
In this example, the total annual licensing fee for the hotel/motel with 150 units would be $1,800.
Application review can take up to 48 business hours. When application is reviewed and finalized, an invoice will be sent via email and can also be accessed via through your CSS portal. Once payment has been made, we will issue the Hotel/Motel license and schedule the inspection.
Inspections
We will be doing 100% exterior walks on all buildings and 10-15% interior inspections. Property owners/managers will be contacted via phone and email informing them of the upcoming scheduled inspection.
