Commercial Building Permit & Plan Submittal Information

A building permit application shall be accepted only after the applicant has provided the following information. 

An application lacking any of the required information shall be deemed incomplete and refused for processing. Incomplete applications shall be returned to the applicant. 



Requirements Prior to Applying for Commercial Building Permit


 Address assignment
   Zoning approval for proposed use(s)
   Plat approval afdoeiorl dlfakweoru dklkjsdfie kjldfsaoier sdghsfgsgfsgfsgrterqwergskladfsair
   Site Plan approval
   Authorized signature from Planning and Zoning
 
 Engineering Division approval (if applicable)
   City Engineer signature releasing civil designs
   Traffic Division approval (if applicable)

A permit application must include a copy of the site plan approved by the Planning and Zoning Division.



Commercial Permit Application Required Information

✔   Application date
✔   Lot, block and subdivision description
✔   Applicant name and contact phone number
✔   Name of general contractor and contact phone number
✔   Description of proposed structure

 Size and square footage of proposed structure
   Estimated cost of construction
   Applicant's signature and date

A completed Permit Application Form must accompany each permit application submittal.
 


Commercial Permit Application Required Supplemental Documents



Submit electronically through CSS.
PDF of the Plan that include: 

Architectural Drawings

Site Plan (stamped "Approved" by Planning and Zoning)
  Structural Plans (signed by Engineer/Architect)
  MEPs (signed by Engineer/Architect) 
  Landscape and Irrigation Plans (stamped "Approved" by Planning and Zoning)
  Soils Report

TDLR # (if project is over $50,000)
  Elevation Drawings/Masonry Calculations (stamped "Approved" by Planning and Zoning)
  COMCheck Calculations for Building Envelope, Interior Lighting, Exterior Lighting and Mechanical. The COMChecks must be completed and signed by a third party energy consultant listing their credentials (usually an ICC number). The COMChecks must show compliance with the 2018 IECC. 
  Asbestos Survey (if remodel or demolition)

Commercial project plans must accompany permit application submittal.



Fee Assessment and Payment

  • A fee shall not be accepted until the application is complete in all other respects.
