School Holiday Play Days

When School is out, FUN is in!

Looking for a fun and safe place for your kids? Mesquite Parks and Recreation provides all day care during MISD closures. The City of Mesquite does not offer Play Days on federal holidays.

Play Days 

Play Days are offered when MISD is out for scheduled professional development days or inclement weather days. Care is provided for children kindergarten through 5th grade from any school.

Time: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Location: Dunford Recreation Center: 1015 Green Canyon Dr. & Rutherford Recreation Center: 900 Rutherford Dr.

Activities for Play Day include group games in the gym or outside (weather permitting), arts and crafts, free play in the gym, and table games (board games, card games, etc.) 

Resident Fee: $25 per child per day 

Non-resident Fee: $35 per child per day

Children will need to bring a sack lunch, water bottle labeled with their name, and an afternoon snack. We recommend children wear closed-toed shoes.

  • At any Mesquite Recreation Center during regular business hours (times vary)

2025 - 2026 Registration Packet 

Participants must complete a registration packet each new school year. Registration packets must be completely filled out and be uploaded to your online account before the first day of care.  The instructions to do so will be on your receipt.
