Metal Detecting Policy

Both of the City’s historic properties were fully scanned when acquired by the City. Because these properties are historic in value, and in order to protect and preserve the property, as well as prevent unintended injury and liability, the properties are not open to metal detectors or any unauthorized excavation. However, the City of Mesquite has other park sites, which may allow the use of metal detectors. You may contact the Parks & Recreation Department for more information.
