Passion and Duality by Loran Thrasher is an enigmatic display of the harmony and contrast of two natural phenomena. This body of work represents his latest exploration of shape and color, line and void, to date. His work often creates feelings of joy and curiosity. These 3d compositons layer meaning with geometry and texture to evoke a deeper connection to the mysteries of our natural world. AARP Free Tax Assistance

AARP - Free Tax Assistance on Mondays only at 9 AM: February 2, 9 & 23, March 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 and April 6 & 13. AARP helps low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those 50 and older; file their personal income tax returns. This service is conducted on a first come, first serve basis.

Tote-and-Go "Art Pick Up"

Tote-and-Go has changed to a monthly program. On the first Monday of each month, staff will distribute art kits that include a variety of creative projects. Any kits remaining after Wednesday, April 8 will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Availability will be determined by the waitlist, which opens on Thursday, April 9. As of January 1, 2026, there are 50 spots available. Register early before capacity is reached.

The meetings are re-scheduled to the next Tuesday when it conflicts with a City holiday that falls on a Monday meeting date. The start time is published once the agenda is finalized and posted online. Per State law, agendas are posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the meeting start time. Residents may sign-up through the “Mesquite Messenger” function on the City’s website to receive email notification when a new City Council agenda is posted.

Keep Mesquite Beautiful is proud host the Recycled Art Contest and Fashion Show at Town East Mall. Students of all ages (K - College) and businesses, groups and organizations are invited to show their created artwork and costume(s) made from recycled materials.

Second Saturday Party

Teen Turnout

Trash Bash (Spring)

Come out and join hundreds of volunteers as we work to clean up Mesquite! Trash Bash is a wonderful opportunity for families, neighbors, and groups to get outside and participate in a community litter cleanup event. Volunteers will be provided trash grabbers, safety vests, disposable gloves, and trash bags. Volunteers will dispose of trash bags and supplies at assigned locations. Pre-registration required so event organizers are able to coordinate supplies and cleanup site locations.
