Like many indigenous cultures around the world. The art of dying items from a natural source is a primitive method. On Saturday, October 7 from 10-12 PM, learn the chemistry that makes blue Jean blue. This workshop will allow participants to dye cloth and wood fibers using Indigo. Participants will watch as their fibers turn blue, with oxygen, right in front of their eyes. Cloth and other fibers will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own fibers in as well.
Things to know about the workshop:
Instructions for multiple tie-dye methods will also be taught
This workshop will provide a chemistry lesson.
Children should be accompanied by an adult.
Gloves will be provided for protection.
Wear clothing that you don't mind getting a little dirty.

On Saturday, October 28, from 4-7 PM, a variety of kid's activities, cultural entertainment, and visual experiences will be offered to educate the public on this Mexican holiday. This event is FREE and open to the public. Located on the perimeter of the Mesquite Arts Center's Facility (outdoor space) + inside the facility. All workshops are from 4-6 PM.
