Request Account Holder Name Change

We are able to change the account holder name(s) on a City of Mesquite utility billing account without a new application for service under certain circumstances, including:

  • A current account holder has legally changed their name.
  • A current account holder is no longer named on the property deed or lease, and another resident of the home who is named on the deed or lease will now be responsible for the bill.
  • A second name has been added to the property deed or lease, and that person will share responsibility for the bill with the current account holder.
  • The listed account holder is deceased, and the property has been legally transferred to a family member who will now be responsible for the bill.

Customers who wish to change the name(s) on a utility billing account for one of the reasons above may submit a request using the form linked below.  Proper documentation must be included along with the request.

Customers who need to establish service in a property they have recently purchased or rented will need to complete the application for service instead.
