Please join the Mesquite Arts Council as they welcome local artist, Ashley Whitt to instruct our Just For Kids event on Nov 4 at 10 AM at the Downtown Mesquite Farmers Market (100 W. Front Street). Learn about the lumen print process and make two small lumen prints! Participants will learn a brief history of the lumen print process and use a variety of objects to make photographic prints. The prints will be fixed and washed on-site. This is a FREE event and is open to the public. Limited space available (50 spaces available; 1 child + 1 adult) We ask that you register ahead of arrival. Please email us at arts@cityofmesquite for any questions or concerns.

Every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April through November, head to Front Street Station to discover a wide variety of local goods. Discover a selection of artisanal products, locally grown produce, baked goods, bath and body products and more. Enjoy a scrumptious meal from one of our food vendors who offer everything from ice cream to snow cones, barbecue to classic fair food, and relax in front of the new outdoor stage and listen to some tunes performed by local singers and musical artists.

Mesquite Recycles Day is a twice-annual event held in Mesquite, TX. At the event, we accept used cell phones, batteries and accessories; printer cartridges, and rechargeable and alkaline batteries. Local agencies are on-hand to collect used toys and children’s items, clothing, and household items. Onsite shredding is available for home use. E-waste will also be accepted, including computers and peripheral equipment, VCRs, DVD players, and similar items. Used appliances are accepted. A maximum of 4 tires per person is permitted.
