Mesquite Arts Theatre presents "A Christmas Story"

Humorist Jean Shepherd's memoir of growing up in the midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher, and even Santa Claus himself at Higbee's Department Store. The consistent response: "You'll shoot your eye out!" All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here, including the family's temperamental exploding furnace; Scut Farkas, the school bully; the boys' experiment with a wet tongue on a cold lamppost; the Little Orphan Annie decoder pin; Ralphie's father winning a lamp shaped like a woman's leg in a net stocking; Ralphie's fantasy scenarios and more! December 6, 2021, City Council Meeting

City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month. The meetings are re-scheduled to the next Tuesday when it conflicts with a City holiday that falls on a Monday meeting date. The start time is published once the agenda is finalized and posted online. Per State law, agendas are posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the meeting start time. Residents may sign-up through the “Mesquite Messenger” function on the City’s website to receive email notification when a new City Council agenda is posted.

Tote-and-Go Services Reindeer Crafts

Please join the Mesquite Arts Council as they present their weekly Tote-and-Go Services for December 6th. This week they are offering "Reindeer Crafts (Papier-Mache + Ornaments)". ? ?On December 6th, please join us in the lobby area of the Mesquite Arts Center at 12 PM. Library Storytime

Little Rookies Basketball (Registration Period)

The Little Rookies program is designed for 3 and 4-year-old children will provide an introduction to basic basketball skills such as passing, dribbling, and shooting. This five-week program is held on Saturdays at Dunford Recreation Center and will provide instructional activities followed by a brief scrimmage. Participants will need to register for the 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. session. A parent / guardian is required to be at all sessions and must participate.

Adult Futsal (Registration Period)

Mesquite Parks and Recreation offers adult co-ed futsal. This is a recreational league designed for teams with an interest in enjoying competition in a fun environment. Leagues are 7 games and a tournament for the top 6 teams.
