Being of Mexican descent, he creates Aztec narrative paintings, along with exploring the celebration of Dia De Los Muertos. Come support him before you join us for our annual Day of The Dead Celebration.

  2. Michelle Richardson: Developing Story Exhibition 10.1.2019 - 12.29.2019

    We are honored to welcome the "Developing Story" of Michelle Richardson's exhibition this Fall. Exhibition will be on display from October 1- December 29. The exhibition revolves from the tradition of gathering around the radio, television or other devices during historic moments has carried on from generation to generation. Inspired by current events, this exhibition references mass communication and the implications of the 24-hr news cycle with a series of screens that act in totality as both painting and silent time-based media. Please join us on December 7th from 6-8 PM for sips and bites a viewing of Michelle Richardson's artwork in Mesquite Arts Center Main Gallery. This is a FREE event.   1. Mayor's Fall Prayer Breakfast

    The public is invited to attend the free Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast sponsored by Vision Mesquite. The featured speaker is Amianne Bailey, who will speak about her program “Reading Our Way Out: Liberation Through Literacy.” The event is free and open to the public. No RSVPs required. A proud product of Mesquite ISD, Amianne is a 1993 graduate of Mesquite High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English at Texas A&M University in College Station and then began her teaching career at West Mesquite High School in 1998. During that time, she earned her Master’s degree in Liberal Arts at SMU. After 11 years in the high school classroom, Amianne earned her School Librarian certificate from the University of North Texas. She returned to her Skeeter roots and now is buzzing around the Mesquite High Library as one of the librarians for the past seven years. Amianne will share the story of how one student’s disturbing comment sparked a book club that has grown during the last five year
