    Deepa’s work integrates nature’s palettes, elements, and patterns that enhance the rhythmic movements within her abstract paintings, reflective of a modern and thought-provoking blend of our dramatic Texas landscape. She finds solace in her new abstract creations influenced by nature and femininity. Deepa’s Art provides a personal silent escape, a necessary kind of silence you need to be still within, that allows all your senses to meditate and embrace her nature-inspired paintings. Please join us at “Ancient Hymns,” a Solo Art Exhibition featuring a new body of work by Deepa Koshaley. She is an established artist living in Dallas, TX. She holds a Master in Landscape Architecture with additional studies in Visual Communication from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree in her native India.

    Please join the Mesquite Arts Council as they present their weekly Tote-and-Go Services for September 20. This week they will offer "Canvas Creations" which will include a blank canvas, instructions on how to transfer an image to the canvas using a grid. (1) kit per child participating. This event pairs with our virtual event is hosted on the Mesquite Arts Center's YouTube channel, "Diego Rivera", which premiered on September 8. This virtual video can be streamed anytime and talks about the artists behind the original image that participants will be illustrating on canvas. On September 20, please join us in the front lobby area of the Mesquite Arts Center at 12 PM. This is a FREE event and open to the public.     City Council meetings are held on the first and third Monday of each month. The meetings are re-scheduled to the next Tuesday when it conflicts with a City holiday that falls on a Monday meeting date. The start time is published once the agenda is finalized and posted online. Per State law, agendas are posted a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the meeting start time. Residents may sign-up through the “Mesquite Messenger” function on the City’s website to receive email notification when a new City Council agenda is posted.

    Come out and join hundreds of volunteers as we work to clean up Mesquite! Trash Bash is a wonderful opportunity for families, neighbors, and groups to get outside and participate in a community litter cleanup event. Volunteers will be provided trash grabbers, safety vests, disposable gloves, and trash bags. Volunteers will dispose of trash bags and supplies at assigned locations. Pre-registration required so event organizers are able to coordinate supplies and cleanup site locations.

    Zombies have been reported to be taking over the park and Camp Rorie Galloway is being evacuated. US Army forces are on site to assist but do you have what it takes to survive and escape? Race through the woods of Camp Rorie with your team, compete in challenges and try to survive the zombie horde. Obstacles and missions will test strength, speed, problem-solving, and teamwork. Collect survival essentials along the way to ensure your team's safe passage to the finish. Participate either as a runner (human) and escape from the Zombies or as a Zombie.
