Mesquite Police Department presents quarterly report

Police Chief Charles Cato presented the Mesquite Police Department’s (MPD) Quarterly Report during the City Council/Staff Work Session on March 20. Family Read Play Talk Fair to be held on March 25

The Mesquite Independent School District will host a family-friendly Read Play Talk Fair from 9 a.m. - noon on March 25 at Mesquite High School/Hanby Stadium, 300 E. Davis Street.The event, for children ages 3 - 8, will feature games, activities, story time and more. Members of the Mesquite Fire and Police Departments will be reading at the Fair between 9:45 and 11:45 a.m.  Visit for more information.

Town Hall Tuesday

Town Hall Tuesday on traffic safety to be held on March 28

The City of Mesquite will host its next Town Hall Tuesday from 7 - 8 p.m. on March 28 at Mesquite City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Avenue. The Police Department and the Public Works Department will share a variety of traffic safety initiatives being implemented to combat speeding and other traffic-related topics. The program begins at 7 p.m., however there will be activities and demonstrations in the lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visit for more information.


Breakfast with the Bunny to be
held on April 8

Breakfast with the Bunny will be held on Saturday, April 8 at Evans Recreation Center, 1116 Hillcrest Street. The event will include a hot breakfast sponsored by Panera Bread, an egg hunt, petting zoo, train rides, crafts and more. The egg hunt is free. However, some activities will have a fee. Breakfast is $5 per person (children 2 and under are free) and will be served from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Activities will be offered from 9 a.m. - noon. Visit for more information.
