Shopping Center

Towne Crossing Shopping Center undergoes extensive renovations

Extensive renovations are underway at Towne Crossing Shopping Center, 2021 N. Town East Boulevard, for two new national brand tenants: Fitness Connection and Mr. Gatti’s Pizza. Fitness Connection will occupy more than 62,000 square feet of the center’s southeast corner and will include a cardio mezzanine, kid’s club, a smoothie bar and saunas. Mr. Gatti’s Pizza will include Gatti Town, the popular state-of-the-art game room. Both businesses are scheduled to open in 2017. Towne Crossing Shopping Center was built in the early 1970’s and is currently home to Guitar Center and Conn’s HomePlus. The developer is working closely with the City to upgrade remodeling plans and the center’s façade in response to the City Council’s efforts to revitalize older shopping centers.

Mesquite Firefighters continue support of Israel’s Emergency Volunteers Project

On November 26, four Mesquite firefighters answered the request for help from Israel’s Public Security Ministry and traveled to Israel to fight hundreds of wildfires ravaging the country. The firefighters responded as part of the Emergency Volunteers Project (EVP), a project authorized by the Israeli government to bring first responders from America to Israel in times of war or natural disaster to augment their limited manpower in emergency services. This is the second time Mesquite firefighters have volunteered to serve at the request of the EVP. In the summer of 2014, teams of firefighters and medical teams were deployed during Operation Protective Edge.
