Introducing Mainstream LiveIn an effort to make communication from the City more cohesive, the City of Mesquite is introducing Mainstream Live, replacing the former Council Connection newsletter. "Council Connection" can now be found on page two of the monthly Mainstream newsletter, hosting updates directly relating to City Council matters. Although these newsletters may look a little different, rest assured that we will continue to provide residents with information across our community -- from key City Council measures to events for the whole family.

Give Wisely This WinterDonating directly to unhoused solicitors on the road may contribute to the cycle of homelessness. Instead, volunteer at a local charity or donate to agencies providing resources to the unsheltered this holiday season. The City offers staff and resources to connect unhoused individuals with assistance, including transportation to shelters, support agencies and willing family or friends. Learn ways to help at www.cityofmesquite.com/Homeless.

Holiday Food Waste Disposal TipsAvoid attracting pests and paying for expensive plumbing repairs by properly disposing of food waste. Put trash out the day of your trash collection instead of letting it sit out. Consider freezing your food waste until collection day. Also, scrape cooled grease or fat into the trash, or pour it into a closed-lid container and throw away. Learn more at www.cityofmesquite.com/FOG.
