Register to vote by Oct. 6Oct. 6 is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming election. Early voting in Dallas and Kaufman County will take place from Oct. 20-31, and polls will be open on Election Day, Nov. 4, from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Residents can visit the Dallas County and Kaufman County elections departments online for more information.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage MonthFrom Sept. 15-Oct. 15, the City of Mesquite will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of events, including Vida Sana, a health and wellness fair geared toward the Hispanic community. The fair will offer fitness classes, healthy living education sessions and the chance to win raffle prizes. Vida Sana will run from 2-4 p.m. on Sept. 20 at the Mesquite Arts Center. Road Report Update: South ParkwayCrews are working on the concrete reconstruction of a two-lane residential street, in addition to constructing new water and sewer utilities along South Parkway.
