City conducting community surveyThe City will conduct a 2025 Mesquite Community Attitude and Satisfaction Survey administered by ETC Institute, a national leader in conducting customer satisfaction surveys for governmental organizations. Randomly selected citizens will be contacted throughout August and September to participate in the survey questionnaire by mail or online. Help clear the Mesquite Animal ShelterThe Mesquite Animal Shelter is once again participating in the national Clear the Shelters campaign promoting pet adoption that runs through Sept. 1. This year, the Animal Shelter will host a special one-day adoption event from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Aug. 23, waiving all fees. Available pets are sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage MonthFrom Sept. 15-Oct. 15, the City of Mesquite will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a variety of events, including Vida Sana, a health and wellness fair geared toward the Hispanic community.
