Galloway Ave. Members of the public, applicants and interested parties may attend the meeting in person. Members of the public desiring to comment during Citizens Forum must preregister by either sending an email to sland@cityofmesquite.com or calling 972-329-8388 before 3 p.m. on May 19. Provide the City Secretary with your name and address. Comments on agenda items may be made during the meeting or by submission on or before 3 p.m. on May 19 to the City Secretary. Mesquite to host Citywide Council District PicnicThe City will host a Citywide Council District Picnic from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, at the north lawn of the Mesquite Arts Center, 1527 N. Galloway Ave. All residents are invited to the gathering, which will feature family-friendly activities and food, as well as the opportunity to meet Councilmembers, City staff and your neighbors. The City offers staff and resources to connect homeless individuals with assistance, including transportation to shelters, support agencies and willing family or friends. Holiday closures and service impactsAll City offices will be closed on Monday, May 26, in observance of Memorial Day. The Mesquite Metro Airport and the Compost Facility and Convenience Center will remain open. Commercial and Residential trash will be collected. Commercial recycling will also be collected. Residential recycling will not be collected. Residential recycling collection will resume on the next scheduled collection day.
