Councilmember Brandon Murden was awarded the 2024 Texas Municipal League Institute (TMLI) Certified Municipal Official designation this week in Austin. Vintage Cars

Historic hot rods at the Vintage Car Show

Historic Mesquite will host the Vintage Car Show from 1-4 p.m. on March 22 at Opal Lawrence Historical Park, 711 E. Kearney St. Register your classic car for $30 for a chance to win trophies and prizes, or attend the show for free. Visit www.HistoricMesquite.org for more information.


Rodeo Parade

Saddle up for rodeo-themed events

Mesquite will host three rodeo-themed events on April 5 to celebrate the City's Western roots. The 67th annual Rodeo Parade will be held at 10 a.m. Following the parade, the World Senior Professional Bullriding Spring Fest will be from 12-2 p.m. at the Mesquite Arena. Additionally, the Downtown Mesquite Farmers Market will open for the season at Front Street Station. For more information and details about these events, click here.

The City of Mesquite is improving the myMesquite app for reporting concerns. The app is currently unavailable, with a new app launching soon. Until the new app is available, residents can report issues at www.cityofmesquite.com/mymesquite or call the myMesquite Call Center at 972-288-7711. For more information, click here.

Youth Services programs for teens

Mesquite teens in grades 9-12 are invited to apply for the City's new Youth Council. Also, applications are open for the Summer Youth Internship Program for teens ages 16-18. Learn more about both opportunities and apply through March 31 at www.cityofmesquite.com/YouthServices.

Musical melodies in March

Music lovers can enjoy the Mesquite Symphony Orchestra's performance of "Defying Expectations" on March 29.
