Town Hall Tuesday

The City of Mesquite is hosting a town hall meeting on Tuesday, September 13, at Mesquite City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Ave in Training Rooms A & B, beginning at 6:30 p.m. to discuss emergency preparedness. Presentations will include tips, information and resources. Learn more here.

Newly reconstructed Town East Blvd


The City of Mesquite and Dallas County officials celebrated the reopening of a reconstructed portion of Town East Blvd today. Both organizations participated in upgrading the strength of the pavement of Town East Blvd from Forney Road to Skyline Drive to withstand the high volume of heavy traffic the roadway receives. Remember Patriot Day on Sept. 11


The City of Mesquite will host a memorial to commemorate Patriot Day which is the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The public event will begin at 2 P.M. on September 11 at Mesquite Freedom Park located at the Mesquite Arts Center, 1527 N. Galloway Avenue.

Mesquite Economic Development recognized


As a result of the City Council’s efforts and policies that support the Strategic Goal for a Vibrant Economy, the Economic Development department is pleased to announce that the City of Mesquite ranked number three among 29 cities in the Dallas Business Journal’s list of North Texas Economic Development Agencies for 2021. Guts & Gory Zombie Fun Run 


Experience a zombie apocalypse at the “Guts and Gory” Zombie Fun Run and Challenge on Sept. 17 at Camp Rorie Galloway, 3100 Lawson Road. There are two ways to participate, either as a runner or as part of the zombie horde. To register, visit www.cityofmesquite.com/GutsAndGoryRun.

Keep Mesquite Beautiful, Inc. to host Trash Bash on Sept. 24 


Keep Mesquite Beautiful (KMB) will hold its volunteer cleanup event, Trash Bash, on Sept. 24. Trash Bash is an opportunity for families, neighbors and groups to get outside and help beautify the Mesquite community. Volunteers are asked to preregister here to help event organizers coordinate supplies and cleanup site locations.

Special Event Permit


The City of Mesquite requires permits for most events that involve a large gathering of people on public property, as well as some events on private property. Any event that requires the closing of roads or restricts access to public property, such as a parade or run, will require a permit. Visit www.cityofmesquite.com/SpecialPermits for more information.
