Elks Auxiliary donates $10,000

The Ladies Auxiliary to the Mesquite Elks Lodge No. 2404 recently presented Historic Mesquite, Inc. (HMI) with a $10,000 donation for the New Hope Church project. HMI acquired the building through donation and has stabilized the structure while funds are raised for its renovation. Read more.

Spring Break DWI enforcement

With Spring Break quickly approaching and activities ramping up again, it’s more important than ever for motorists to be aware of the importance of roadway safety. The Mesquite Police Department is joining forces with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and law enforcement agencies across Texas to look for impaired and intoxicated drivers.

Enter the 64th annual Rodeo Parade

This year's annual Rodeo Parade will be held on April 2, 2022, starting at 10 a.m. in Downtown Mesquite. The theme is "Real. Texas. Rodeo." and marks the parade's 64th anniversary. Chet Garner, host of the popular show Daytripper, will also be in attendance and filming from the parade. The parade entry fee is $40. Parks and Rec. Girls Softball League

The City of Mesquite Parks and Recreation's brand new Youth Fast Pitch Softball League's registration is open to girls ages 6 - 14 and ends on Sunday, March 27. Late registration ends on Sunday, April 3. The inaugural season will start on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Games will take place at the newly renovated Mesquite Softball Complex. Fire Department hosts charity game

The Mesquite Fire Department will host a charity basketball game playing the Raising the Bridge Kings on Saturday, March 26 at 6 p.m. at Poteet High School, 3300 Poteet Drive. Raising the Bridge is a Mesquite based non-profit organization geared to strengthen our community's youth. Tickets are $12, children 6 and under are free.
