Major closures at IH 30 and Galloway Avenue on May 8 The Texas Department of Transportation has started construction on IH 635 LBJ East. The evening of Saturday, May 8 all lanes of both eastbound and westbound IH 30 mainlanes at Galloway Avenue will be closed to perform beam settings at Galloway Avenue over IH 30. Full closures of the Galloway Avenue overpass at IH 30 and certain IH 30/IH 635 direct connectors will also be required in addition to the mainlane closures. Mesquite moves forward with $130 million industrial park The City Council has approved proceeding with the development of the 2.3 million square foot industrial park called Alcott Logistics Station to be located south of East Scyene Road and west of Faithon P. Lucas, Sr. Boulevard. The fully developed project is estimated to create 1,625 new jobs. the initial plans for the Class A industrial business park will feature six buildings, a corporate campus design, innovative architecture, collaborative outdoor space, a walking trail and water feature as well as enhanced landscaping and a public park. Mesquite announces investment in Northridge Shopping Center CenterPoint Commercial Properties will invest approximately $650,000 to improve the Northridge Shopping Center located at 1805 N. Galloway Avenue. The improvements will include façade enhancements, new tenant signage, roof repairs and storefront renovations. In 2020 the developer purchased the shopping center, which was constructed in 1960, and has proposed plans to renovate the center to attract new tenants and approve its appearance. Learn more.

Mesquite moves forward with Mesquite Airport Logistics Center Mesquite has approved Dalfen Industrial’s proposed development of two distribution buildings of 870,000 square feet located on East Scyene Road near Mesquite Metro Airport. As a part of this development, Dalfen will make improvements to Airport Boulevard and will purchase a 15-acre portion of City owned property located at 1900 Airport Boulevard to maximize the development of the project.
