City Council meets April 19 Mesquite City Council will meet on April 19 at City Hall, 757 N. Galloway Avenue. The Pre-Meeting begins at 5 p.m. in Training Rooms A and B, followed by the Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. Members of the public, applicants and interested parties may attend the meeting in person. The public attending the meeting will have the option of wearing a face covering but the city will continue to implement social distancing measures with limited seating. Members of the public desiring to comment during Citizens Forum must preregister as follows: Send an email or call the City Secretary on or before 3 p.m. on April 19 at sland@cityofmesquite.com or 972-216-6244. 2021 Summer Youth Internship Program The City of Mesquite is now accepting applications for the 2021 Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP), which will take place June 11 - July 25. Eligible applicants must live in Mesquite, be between the ages of 15 - 17, and meet Federal income requirements. To apply please complete and submit the 2021 Summer Youth Internship Application and required documents. Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 30. City hosts business data and trends virtual event The City of Mesquite’s Economic Development Department hosted a free virtual “Local Market Data & Trends” event for the business community on April 13. The event was presented by Research Manager Micah Rabalais from Avison Young, a Dallas-based commercial real estate advising firm, and highlighted data from the first quarter of 2021. Keep Mesquite Beautiful seeks volunteers for Trash Bash on April 24 Keep Mesquite Beautiful (KMB) is seeking volunteers for its cleanup event, Trash Bash, on April 24. Trash Bash is an opportunity for families, neighbors and groups to get outside and help beautify the Mesquite community and is the first event that is part of the new Clean City Initiative.
