Mesquite presents 2021 State of the City


The City of Mesquite has released Mayor Bruce Archer’s virtual 2021 State of the City Address. The address highlighted the city’s response to the events of 2020, including the COVID-19 pandemic and Hurricane Laura evacuees. Additionally, the city’s 2020 employees of the year were honored. Weekend closures on IH 635

IH 635 LBJ East Project Update


The Texas Department of Transportation has started construction on IH 635 LBJ East. The evening of Saturday, Mach 27 all lanes of both northbound and southbound IH 635 mainlanes between Galloway Avenue and Oates Drive will be closed to perform a partial bridge demo. Full closures of both Galloway Avenue and Oates Drive cross streets, as well as the eastbound IH 30 direct connector to northbound IH 635 will also be required in addition to the mainlane closures. Mesquite Arts Center holds April Rocks! concerts


Get ready to rock in April with the Mesquite Arts Center’s weekly “April Rocks!” concerts. On April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 7 p.m., enjoy a concert on the Northlawn at 1527 North Galloway Avenue. Admission is free, but spots will be limited to a first come, first served basis. Learn more.

Mesquite Black- Owned Business Symposium

Watch virtual Black-Owned Business Symposium


On March 20, the Mesquite Tri-East NAACP, along with the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, the Balch Springs Chamber of Commerce and the City of Mesquite hosted a virtual Black-Owned Business Symposium. The symposium included a panel interview with business leaders and city officials to provide information to business owners on how to grow their business as well as presentations on programs about advertising and networking for business success.
