Mesquite Fire Department launches TeleMedic program


The Mesquite Fire Department is now offering a Tele Medic consultation as an additional service for citizens calling 911 that are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. The department has placed their paramedics in the city’s dispatch center to talk to residents while a paramedic ambulance will be sent to their location. While the ambulance is on its way, the paramedic in the dispatch center will provide instructions over the phone. Learn more. Watch video.

Avoid scams during the COVID-19 event


Scammers are taking advantage of people’s fears surrounding the Coronavirus. Some of the top scams include a fake stimulus check, testing scams, charity scams and more. One of the biggest signs of a scam is a sense of urgency. Scammers will apply pressure or use fear to get you to act. Another sign of a scam is scarcity. Roadmap to Resources helps job seekers and local businesses


The City of Mesquite has put together a list of helpful resources for local businesses and job seekers during the coronavirus pandemic. The Roadmap to Resources website, www.roadmaptoresources.com,  includes information on financing programs and grants available for small businesses, e-commerce tips, links to unemployment assistance programs and more. Palos Verdes Lake

Palos Verdes wildlife relocation to begin


The City is improving the flood control at Palos Verdes Lake. As a part of the project, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has permitted the City to proceed with the safe relocation of turtles and fish to allow for the construction to be completed. A certified team of licensed biologists from PondMedics will manage the wildlife relocation efforts beginning April 27. 635 Traffic Alert

IH 635 LBJ East Traffic Alert


The Texas Department of Transportation has started construction on IH 635 LBJ East. The HOV/Express Managed Toll Lanes between US 75 and IH 30 will close Monday morning, April 27, lasting through the end of the 635 East Project in late 2024. Stay up to date on the closures and traffic pattern changes during this ongoing project, by visiting 635east.com. The City of Mesquite is accepting applications for the new Mesquite Landmark Commission. The Commission will work to protect, enhance and promote landmarks and districts of historical, cultural and architectural importance in the City. Residents who are interested in being the first members of the commission can apply online at www.cityofmesquite.com/LandmarkCommission. Applications are due by May 1. Learn more.
