Mesquite, TX – August 23, 2018 – Mesquite Fire Station 2, 4609 Sarazen Dr., is currently undergoing planned renovations and is expected to be closed until October 1. The Mesquite Fire Department will maintain operations and staffing from the station.
An advanced life support fire engine will continue to respond from the station site and crews will be housed in a temporary facility. The department has temporarily relocated other Fire Station 2 vehicles to nearby fire stations.
Residents requesting routine blood pressure checks are encouraged to visit Fire Station 6, 1010 Barnes Bridge Rd. or Fire Station 5, 2141 N. Galloway Ave. Residents are encouraged to continue to call 911 for all emergencies.
The planned renovations to Fire Station 2 include the living quarters and kitchen areas. Mesquite opened Fire Station 2 in 1960. In 1995, the City of Mesquite renovated the station to house additional personnel and equipment.
