Mesquite, TX – April 15, 2020 – Eastfield College is stepping up to help the community medical supplies during COVID-19. Dr. Jess Kelly, the Executive Dean for the STEM, Physical Education and Athletics recently donated 1,500 pairs of gloves to Dallas Regional Medical Center located in Mesquite.
Dr. Kelly said, “We are honored to provide support to and partner with Dallas Regional Medical Center (DRMC) to serve our community during these unprecedented times. It is our fervent hope that this small gesture contributed to and allows DRMC to safely serve our community and that our citizens and healthcare professionals remain healthy and prosperous.”
Dr. Kelly had planned to use the gloves for his students before spring classes were moved online. But he says that he is proud to be able to put them to good use by donating them to Mesquite’s community health care heroes.
Lisa Fox, the ER Director of DRMC, said, “Eastfield College’s donation of gloves is an amazing gesture of teamwork and dedication to our community. We work closely with Eastfield College throughout the year, offering internships to their students and partnering on other initiatives, but this generous donation goes to show how strong the bonds are within our organizations.”
Fox says if anyone would like to donate items to DRMC during this time, to contact their administration office at 214-320-7162.
