Mesquite, TX – March 26, 2020 – Do you have questions on what is allowed during Dallas County’s Amended Order, telling residents to “Stay Home Stay Safe?” Here are a few highlights of things Mesquite residents should keep in mind.
- What can residents do? People are still allowed to leave their homes to perform tasks essential to the health and safety of themselves, family or household members. They’re also allowed to go to the store for supplies, care for family members or pets in other households and go to work at an Essential Business.
Residents can also engage in outdoor exercises if they follow essential distancing requirements of six feet. The City of Mesquite invites residents to use the open space at parks and the trails but has discontinued parking at City parks to help discourage large gatherings. Learn more. - What is still open? Government services, healthcare facilities, food places like grocery stores, food banks, gas stations, etc., maintenance services, financial institutions and other essential facilities.
At this time there is no requirement of proof that you are allowed to be outside your residence because the order presumes that citizens will follow the order for the greater good of the community.
