Mesquite Employee Health Center

The Mesquite Employee Health Center (MEHC) is a unique partnership between the City of Mesquite and Mesquite ISD that involves an innovative approach to controlling the cost of health care. The MEHC is a tremendous benefit and convenience to employees and dependents who participate in the respective health plans.

Current Facilities

The clinic and pharmacy is located at 300 West Kearney. The 4,400-square-foot facility has a:
  • Family clinic with seven exam rooms
  • Full-fledged pharmacy
  • Quest / lab collection site
Medical records are entered and maintained electronically with limited use of paper.

Health Center Staff

The Health Center is staffed by with the following positions:
  • Clinic manager
  • Physician
  • Physician assistant
  • Nurse
  • Medical assistant
  • Two administrative assistants
  • Two pharmacists
  • Two pharmacy technicians
Employees and dependents of the City of Mesquite must be on a city medical plan in order to utilize the MEHC.

Clinic Details

  • Employees and dependents can take advantage of the walk-in period from 7 to 8:30 a.m. on a first come, first served basis (currently walk-in visits are through the telemedicine app Spruce)
  • Basic primary and minor emergency care are provided
  • Focus is on wellness and preventive care
  • Physicals, screenings, and referrals provided
  • Staff includes two providers: a physician and physician assistant.

  • Children ages 2-years-old and up are welcome
  • Insurance card and photo ID must be presented at your appointment
  • Office visits are $15
  • For retirees under age 65, office visits are $30
  • Cash, check, Visa and MasterCard are accepted
  • Orders for lab work received from an outside provider can be performed at our Quest  collection site

​Pharmacy Details

Prescriptions

  • Prescriptions from any doctor will be filled
  • Prescriptions may be called in or faxed by a provider (physician), but original prescriptions cannot be faxed by the patient. Patients must bring in original prescriptions to be filled
  • Prescriptions cannot be picked up while the pharmacist is at lunch or off the premises
  • Insurance card and photo ID must be presented

Rates

HSA participants must meet their calendar-year deductible for non-preventive prescription drugs.

Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted.
