The National Night Out campaign involved citizens, law enforcement, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada, and military bases worldwide.
National Night Out is designed to:
Bring neighborhoods together and to strengthen the citizen-police relationship in the community.
Increase awareness of crime and drug-abuse
Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized in their anti-crime efforts
Each year, Neighborhood Watch groups throughout Mesquite actively participate in a variety of events in their neighborhoods, including block parties and cook-outs.
